AMENDMENT TO ADD QUESTION AND ANSWER DOCUMENT AND PICTURES BRAND NAME: "GML is requesting to purchase a Kohler brand emergency generator because it can be easily worked on by the only diesel generator mechanic on the remote island of American Samoa. He has maintained GML's current Kohler generator for over 10 years, is familiar with the system, and is able to get Kohler parts quickly, keeping backup power capabilities online. If NOAA were to purchase a different brand generator, there is no guarantee the mechanic would be able to keep it functioning at such a high level, or easily get replacement parts for it. GML would like to purchase a generator that will be a one-for-one replacement and be guaranteed to be serviced by an on-island mechanic."
