Intent to Sole Source- W.W. Grainger

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , National Institute of Occupational Health and Safet, (NIOSH), Pittsburgh Research Laboratory intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to W. W. Grainger for the Respirators and accessories including: 3M 6000 series respirator all sizes, 3M 604 Exhalation filter, Honeywell RU8500 series respirator all sizes, Honeywell P100 particulate filter, MSA 900 respirator all sizes, 3M respirator spare parts including head harness, inhalation valves, exhalation valves, and port gaskets, Honeywell respirator spare parts including inhalation and exhalation valves, and headband assembly. This purchase is to support the testing of new-to-market respirators in the style of no exhalation valve. The W. W. Grainger new to market respirators are the only commerically available respirators that can support the style of no exhalation valves and prototype filters and the most fitting to be evaluated in a medical setting. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
