A. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Public Diplomacy Section at the U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to implement the EducationUSA Operational Support Program to provide administrative support to the EducationUSA program in Zimbabwe. The broader EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network of over 430 international student advising centers in more than 175 countries and territories. The network promotes U.S. higher education to students around the world by offering accurate, comprehensive, and current information about opportunities to study at accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA is the official U.S.- government source on U.S. higher education. Please follow all instructions below. Priority Region: Project activities must take place in Zimbabwe and be directed at Zimbabwean audiences/participants. Program Objectives: The grantee will work with the Public Diplomacy Section to support the section’s EducationUSA outreach and advising programs. Specifically, the grantee will facilitate stipend payments and other reimbursements for up to four EducationUSA field advisers in Bulawayo, Gweru, Harare, Mutare and/or other locations in Zimbabwe as necessary. Additional funding support will be provided to fund outreach activities, including travel, internet and other related outreach costs. All payments and program support will be coordinated closely with the Public Diplomacy Section at the U.S. Embassy. Successful grantee must have experience working with international exchange programs and demonstrate ability to responsibly manage funds, coordinate logistics, and produce high quality programs and financial reports. The Department of State will entertain applications for continuation grants funded under these awards beyond the initial budget period on a non-competitive basis subject to availability of funds, satisfactory progress of the program, and a determination that continued funding would be in the best interest of the U.S. Department of State.
