Implementing Evidence-Based Health Promotion Programs for Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Tourette Syndrome (TS)

The purpose of Implementing Evidence-Based Health Promotion Programs for Children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Tourette Syndrome (TS) is to improve the health of people with ADHD or TS by developing and providing health communication and education resources to professionals and the public based on best evidence. Program strategies include 1) Providing Information, Consultation and Referral Services, 2) Developing and Disseminating Health Communication Programs and Materials, and 3) Developing and Delivering Health Education Programs. This award builds upon and expands previous efforts by incorporating current evidence on health communication and health education strategies, and on ADHD or TS to provide information, education, and consultation about assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health and well-being for children with ADHD or TS. The intended long-term outcomes are to promote optimal health and well-being of children with ADHD or TS by increasingawareness of available support services and evidence-based treatments for ADHD or TS among healthcare and educational professionals, and the public;knowledge about ADHD or TS among individuals who receive information or educational materials;knowledge about ADHD or TS among individuals who attend education programs; andintent to adopt health behaviors, evidence-based treatment, or educational strategies among individuals who attend education programs and individuals who receive educational materials.
