R -- Professional Services to Promote and Disseminate Information about Science and Our Food Supply

The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a Purchase Order on a sole source basis to National Science Teacher’s Association to continue the on-going services for the following: To promote and disseminate information about Science and Our Food Supply, a supplementary curriculum developed by the FDA in cooperation with the National Science Teachers Association, to middle level and high school teachers nationwide. The contractor shall (1) network to reach a broad audience of high school and middle level teachers as well as curriculum leaders and supervisors who would have a natural interest in the curriculum, (2) create and maintain a specific web page for the promotion of the materials by promoting through the use of existing listserves and targeting distribution to the intended audience, (3) staff an exhibit booth at all three of the fall area conventions – National Association of Biology Teachers, National Middle Level, and/or other non-NSTA conventions to provide additional outreach, (4) create and coordinate print advertising in journals and newspapers – Science Scope, the Middle Level Journal, the Science Teacher, and the High School Journal from September 2004 through June 2005, and (5) target a direct mail campaign announcing the availability of Science and Our Food Supply to reach middle level and high school science teachers. . Services shall last 12 months from the effective date of the purchase order. An award will be made six (10) days from the date of this notice. This is not a request for quotes; however, sources may submit descriptive literature which fully demonstrates their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. This sole source procurement is being awarded as simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5.
