Summer Genetics Institute Training Course

This is a synopsis prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. This is a Notice of Intent. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The announcement number for this acquisition is NIH-OLAO-NOI-2867492 and is being issued under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The anticipated award date is March 15, 2013. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 923110 which has a size dollar standard of $35.0. The National Institutes of Health, Office of the Director, Office of Logistics and Acquisitions Operations, on the behalf of the National Institute of Nursing Research, intends to procure on a sole source basis from The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences. The purpose of this requirement is to procure training for The Summer Genetics Institute (SGI), an intensive one-month summer research training course designed to provide a foundation in molecular genetics for use in research and clinical practice. The contractor shall provide lecturers and handout material for all lecture presentations held during the mornings of the program, design and conduct 9 laboratories, provide course materials, and handle scheduling, printing, and A/V coordination. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses submitted. Responses must be submitted no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST), March 11, 2013 to Ms. Anne Mineweaser. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
