Description
THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO REVIEW AND PRINT ON THE FEDBIZOPPS WEB SITE IN APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS. SMILEY CREEK FUELWOOD PROJECT. The intent of this contract is to secure services for hazardous fuels reduction on the Sawtooth National Recreation Area of the Sawtooth National Forest. The project includes removing dead and dying lodgepole pine, limbing and decking the trees, machine piling slash and reducing fuel bed depths and the mastication of live trees to remove pine encroachment from sagebrush communities. The treatment will be for the purpose of hazardous fuels reduction and reducing the threat of catastrophic stand replacement fire in Smiley Creek area. The project area is located one mile south of Sawtooth City, Idaho, (Smiley Creek) on the Sawtooth National Recreation Area of the Sawtooth National Forest. The project area is located 18 miles south of Stanley, Idaho in Blaine County. Traveling south from Stanley on State Highway 75 to Forest Road 077, a gravel road also known as Smiley Creek cutoff, can access the area. The legal location of the project area is T.7N., R.14E, Sections 34 and 35. PREBID MEETING HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 9, 2004 AT 10:00AM AT THE JOB SITE.
