Y--Relocate Emergency Department 585-11-101

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE for The Project includes relocation of the Emergency Department within Building No. 1 of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain Michigan. Work includes renovation of approximately 5,500 square feet of the existing Outpatient Clinic space to accommodate a larger Emergency Department to better serve patient demand. The Project will consist of the demolition of existing and installation of new stud and drywall wall partitions and appurtenances; demolition of existing and installation of new electrical and communication lines; demolition of existing and installation of new HVAC ductwork and hydronic piping; demolition of existing and installation of new security equipment; and demolition of existing and installation of new fire suppression lines and appurtenances. Work also includes the addition of an approximately 800 square foot ambulance garage which will be located directly east of the existing Ambulance Entrance. The proposed garage will require electrical and HVAC installations, and will require site work and site utility demolition. All work is to be completed within 300 days after the issuance of the notice to proceed. This construction project is set-aside for Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on Fedbizops. There will be pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation packages. The solicitation will be issued on/about May 03, 2011 with the bid opening on/about June 06, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $1,000,000 - $2,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies.
