68--Medical Grade Liquid Bulk Oxygen

The intent of this notice is to amend the pre-solicitation to change the solicitation type from a Request for proposal RFP VA-244-RP-0176 to an Invitation for Bids IFB VA-244-10-IB-0202. The anticipated solicitation issue date will be on or about April 28, 2010.The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 4) has the requirement for the distribution and supply of medical grade liquid bulk oxygen. VISN 4 consists of the following facilities and locations, Altoona VAMC, Altoona, Pennsylvania; Butler VAMC, Butler, Pennsylvania; Clarksburg VAMC, Clarksburg, WV; Coatesville VAMC, Coatesville, Pennsylvania; Erie VAMC, Erie, Pennsylvania; Lebanon VAMC, Lebanon, Pennsylvania; Philadelphia VAMC, Nursing Home Care Unit, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Philadelphia VAMC University Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh VAMC University Drive C, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Pittsburgh VAMC Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Wilkes-Barre VAMC, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; Wilmington VAMC, Wilmington, Pennsylvania; The contractor will be responsible for providing a committed source of supply of medical grade liquid bulk oxygen for these facilities. The Government facilities may or may not own their own bulk oxygen tank. If the specifications indicated that the facility does not own its own bulk oxygen tank, the contractor shall also provide a contractor-owned tank with an appropriate back-up system. The government intends to award a requirements type contract with the possibility of awards to multiple vendors. This will be an unrestricted solicitation under NAICS Code 325120. The anticipated solicitation issue date will be on or about April 28, 2010.
