The Department of Veterans Affairs VA Connecticut Health Care System (VACHCS) intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Cambridge Isotope Lab Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) FAC 2005-26. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. Items being procured must be the same as or equal to: CLM-420-SP -D-Glucose (1-13C, 99%) Sterility/Pyrogenicity Tested THIS ITEM IS NOT RADIOACTIVE - 2000 GM;CLM-381-SP - SODIUM ACETATE-2-13C, (2-13C, 99%) STERILITY & PYROGENICITY TESTED, If possible, please ensure that the orders are delivered with each 100 grams (or greater amount) from the same lot number. - 500 GM; CLM-2122-0 - 2-DEOXY-D-GLUCOSE-6-13C, (6-13C, 99%), STERILITY/PYROGENICITY TESTED if available - 10 GM. RATIONALE FOR SOLE-SOURCE PURCHASE: It is very important that these substrates be of the highest quality because they are used for intraveneous injections. No comparable Products are currently available with comparable capabilities from individual components would be costly to validate. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
