Trade Study to Determine the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System (JPALS) Increment 1A Design Modifications Necessary for Integration into DDG 1000 Class Destroyers

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to issue an order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement to Raytheon for a trade study to determine if modifications are needed to the Joint Precision Approach and Landing System Increment 1A ship system design to accommodate integration into the DDG 1000 ship class. This requirement will be procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), in that Raytheon is the sole responsible source, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the requirement.
