The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research Laboratory (CRREL) intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to Multi Phase Technologies LLC upon the basis of the authority provided at FAR 13.106-1(b). ERDC-CRREL intends to procure one (1) DAS-1 ERTLab 16 pin data acquisition system (p/n MPT DAS-1) with an internal transmitter, 64 electrode multiplexers (p/n MPT MUX-1), and eight (8) receiver channels for ongoing research projects, long term training, and electromagnetic induction systems development for soil interrogation. Requirements: The requested system measures electrical resistivity, electrical impedance, self-potential, and induced polarization in both the time-domain and frequency-domain (spectral) as to include: • Minimum of eight (8) channels with 24-bit A-D conversion on each channel • Self-contained receiver and transmitter unit • Internal high isolation multiplexer out to 64 electrodes • Two(2) additional multiplexor units each out to 64 electrodes to enable 3D data acquisition • Sensor cables, extension cables, and stainless-steel electrodes • Integrated system control panel • 2D electrical resistivity and induced polarization inversion software • Durable shipping case • High precision digital data acquisition system (~0.05% precision) • Internal transmitter up to maximum output current 2 Amps • Maximum output voltage 500 volts (1000 V peak to peak) • Maximum output power 250 watts • 24-Bit A to D converters • 2 x high-isolation multiplexor units allowing for 64 electrodes and up to 8 receiving (Rx)channels • 12 x 16 conductor surface acquisition cables • Four (4) cable spools • 192 x 16" electrodes (3/8" stainless steel) • 3D electrical resistivity tomography inversion software Multi-Phase Technologies, LLC was identified as the only source capable of offering a product meeting the requisite specifications and providing the unique technology required by the Government. Multi-Phase has developed an electrical resistivity and induced polarization imaging system capable of time-domain and frequency domain electrical measurements. Importantly, the portability of the system allows it to be deployed in field and laboratory settings. Additionally, the DAS-1 ERTLab 16 pin data acquisition system and components is uniquely capable of providing the results necessary to test the hypotheses posed in the FY20 CRREL long-term training research The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334515, which has a size standard of 750 employees.
