A -- Technical and Engineering Services for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) plans to award a sole source follow-on contract to John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, a University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) for continual Technical Engineering Services for MDA. This is a follow on effort to the MDA Contract No. HQ0006-02-D-0003. JHU/APL is performing technical and engineering services that support development of land, sea and space based systems for ballistic missile defense systems. Under this contract effort JHU/APL will continue providing services in the same critical areas with specific tasking in Fleet-Based Ballistic Missile Defense, Space Systems and Experiments, Systems Engineering and Systems Evaluations Modeling and Simulations, and Research and Technology Development. This contract will be a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee, with a five-year base period and an estimated value of $164 million. Award will be pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(3)(B) to maintain essential engineering, research, or development capability to be provided by an educational institution. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties should respond by close of business 04/20/06. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Kenneth J.
