Asbestos Abatement: Cable and Conduit: It has been determined through sampling and analysis that the cable in the generators and the CO2 room contain asbestos-containing fibers. Asbestos-containing materials must be abated in accordance with the National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), 40 CFR Part 61, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), 40 CFR Part 763 subpart G, and OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1926.1101. All removal of asbestos-containing materials must also comply with South Carolina Regulation R61-86.1, Standards for Performance of Asbestos Projects and all waste must be handled and properly disposed of in accordance with state and federal regulations. Abatement work must be conducted by trained, license asbestos workers.
