This notice is for information and planning purposes and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation on the part of the Government. Submission in response to this request is purely voluntary. The Government assumes no financial responsibility for costs incurred in response to this request for information. The USDA Forest Service, Chippewa National Forest in Cass Lake Minnesota is in search of suppliers for Tree Seedlings for the FY 2014 spring planting season. The requirements will be as follows: 160,000 white spruce 47,000 white pine 9,000 bur oak 9,000 common hackberry 141,000 red pine 3,000 American basswood 18,000 northern red oak 1,000 white oak 1,000 shagbark hickory 1,000 bitternut hickory 2,000 chokecherry 500 American plum 2,000 highbush cranberry A total of 394,500 bareroot seedlings. All conifer seedlings will be from seed collected in the North Central seed zone 104 of Minnesota, which includes Beltrami, Cass and Itasca counties. All other stock must be from seed sources in Minnesota or Wisconsin. All confier stock must be 3-0, graded and root pruned prior to packaging. This request is for suppliers of tree stock only. The Chippewa National Forest would arrange for shipping. If a solicitation is issued, or an offer of a contract award is made based on the information provided to the contracting office, all suppliers are required to be in compliance with the Debt Improvement Act of 1996, and shall be registered in the Systems for Awards Management (SAM). Instructions regarding the registration process can be found at https://www.sam.gov . It is also required that all suppliers be registered in the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) located at the same address.
