Description: This is a Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The Government is requesting information regarding the availability and feasibility of attracting potentially new service providers to meet our transportation needs, end-to-end distribution of petroleum products from numerous locations to and from origin locations within the Continental of United States. Please refer to attachment of twelve month forecast of requirements for movement, to and from origin and destination locations. Exhibit 1 delineates West coast requirements and titled DIST PLAN FY 2007-2008 Truck customer for Rocky Mountain West Coast and Exhibit 2, Inland East Coast requirements and titled DIST PLAN FY 2007-2008 Truck customer for Inland East Coast; this RFI extends itself to current and future service providers’. For this RFI, the Department of Defense are interested in determining whether or not potentially new, current, and future domestic service providers are interested in doing business with the Department of Defense for movement of petroleum products throughout the Continental of United States. Process: This request is to gather information from interested parties and is deemed essential as part of our collaborative, deliberate planning process for the Department of Defense in expanding the commercial transportation services and the support to Defense Logistics Agency, Acquisition Management, Defense Energy Support Center transportation mission and to extend our professional partner-shipping relationship with our motor carrier entities. Interested parties should review the attached documents and reply no later than October 1, 2008.
