66--FLUID BED REGENERABLE CO2 SORBENT

It is the National Energy Technical Laboratory?s (NETL) intent to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to SUD-CHEMIE Inc., Louisville, KY to remove CO2 sorbents for fluid bed applications. Fluid sorbent is a clay based sorbent and spray drying of the clay material is required for the preparation.This is considered a sole source to the SUD-CHEMIE Inc because it is the only company that can provide spray dried clay material for our applications and is the only company that is able to prepare a large quantity (50 lbs) of this material and impregnation. This is not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a request for quotation or proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Challenges must demonstrate the capability to provide all of the above listed specifications for the item(s) being requested (software licenses and accompany support service). If no challenges to acquire this (these) item(s) are received by 5:30 PM ET on September 9, 2009, the government reserves the right to execute an award without publishing a solicitation. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed award based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
