H -- Heat Treating Service

Bechtel Nevada is seeking sources capable of furnishing all labor, material, and services required for providing heat treatment of some Primary Target Chamber (PTC); which mainly consists of: 1 – 18” diameter, SCH 120, ASTM A106 steel pipe and 1 – 12” diameter, SCH 80, ASTM A106 steel pipe. PTC measurements are 18”W x 37”L x 23.5”H. We anticipate heat treating approximately 12 to 24 PTC’s per year. The heat treatment shall consist of: A. Slow heat the PTC in a cold furnace for, minimum of 1 hour ramp time to hold temperature. B. Hold at 1000 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 hours based upon the thickest part of the PTC. C. Slow cool in furnace overnight. The source will be asked to: A. Provide certification of process for each PTC showing heating, holding, and cooling cycles with PTC number and date clearly marked. B. Furnish a certificate of compliance listing each PTC number. C. Show, via an audit by BN, that the source meets 10 CFR 830.120 requirements, having an implemented Quality Assurance program or be ISO 9000 certified, prior to start of work The interested parties are to provide examples of work that has been performed in the past of similar nature and shall indicate that the source meets 10 CFR 830.120 requirements and have an implemented Quality Assurance (QA) Program or be ISO 9000 certified.
