The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island, IL, on behalf of Pine Bluff Arsenal, is seeking information from industry to assist with the development and planning of a potential new requirement. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP). NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. 1. Overview/Purpose/Description of Procurement Pine Bluff Arsenal is contemplating a future, one-time only, procurement of the following four chemicals, in the respective estimated quantities: 1) Acetylsalicylic Acid (Aspirin); Quantity of 8 tons 2) Citric Acid; Quantity of 6 tons 3) Succinic Acid; Quantity of 6 tons 4) Sodium Percarbonate; Quantity of 25 tons 2. Scope of Effort Supplier would be responsible for delivering the above chemicals to Pine Bluff Arsenal and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental hazard and safety regulations. 3. Technical Characteristics Supplier must package and deliver each of the chemicals in either ½ ton or 1 ton supersacks. Therefore, as an example, if six tons of citric acid are ordered, the vendor would be responsible for delivering a total of six tons of citric acid in either 12 half-ton supersacks or 6 one-ton supersacks. 4. Requested Information Interested vendors are requested to provide the following information: 1) Characteristics of each of the respective chemicals available for purchase from your respective company (spec sheet of material, purity standards, what material grades are available, etc.). 2) Production and delivery lead time. 3) Price per ton of each chemical, and any price breaks based on order quantities. 4) Indicate whether proposed price includes shipping; if it does not, then provide the estimated shipping/freight cost as a separate cost element in your response. RESPONSE GUIDELINES: Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI with a white paper. Submissions cannot exceed 10 pages, single spaced, 12-point type with at least one-inch margins on 8 1/2" X 11" page size. The response should not exceed a 5 MB e-mail limit for all items associated with the RFI response. Responses must specifically describe the contractor's capability to meet the requirements outlined in this RFI. Oral communications are not permissible.
