The purpose of the conference is to enhance small business participation in Federal acquisitions with companies capable of providing energy commodities and services such as; (1) petroleum refineries/terminals in the production of aviation fuels, aviation gasoline, Naval Fuel Distillate (F76), gasohol, gasoline, diesel fuels, heating oils, alternative fuels (biodiesel "B2O", ethanol "E85"); (2) suppliers of natural gas; (3) producers of aerospace fuels to include liquid propellants, non-propellant cryogens and compressed gases; (4) suppliers of electricity including wind, biomass and geothermal renewable energy, (5) suppliers of coal; and (6) managers of Government Owned Contractor Operated/Contractor Owned Contractor Operated storage terminals and Utility Privatization services. DESC is also seeking to engage large businesses willing to participate in the Department of Defense Mentor-Protege program by becoming a mentor or provide subcontracting opportunities to small businesses. The conference will provide an opportunity for you to speak with DESC Small Business Specialists, representatives from several DESC Commodity Business Units (CBUs), Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), and other invited guest speakers. During this all day event we will host training/networking breakout sessions from 1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. These sessions will provide unique aspects and more in depth details of products and services procured by each CBU.
