V -- Air Transportation to/from Christchurch, New Zealand and McMurdo Airfields Antarctica

This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI). HQ AIR MOBILITY COMMAND / A34YAS is seeking information regarding commercial dedicated air transportation services to move passengers and cargo from Christchurch, New Zealand to McMurdo Station Antarctica. The contractor will provide aircraft capable of moving 100 passengers and 70,000 lbs of cargo per week. This contract will be awarded to a US certificated FAR Part 121 or 135 carrier. To help us determine the most suitable approach to acquire the air transportation services described above, the following information is requested: 1) DESCRIBE YOUR FIRM’S AVAILABLE AIRPLANES AND THEIR CAPACITY. 2) HOW MANY YEARS HAS YOUR COMPANY BEEN FLYING PASSENGERS? 3) APPROXIMATE PRICE RANGE PER GREAT CIRCLE STATUTE MILE OR FLIGHT HOUR. 4) DOES YOUR COMPANY CURRENTLY OPERATE IN NEW ZEALAND OR ANTARCTICA? 5) HAS YOUR COMPANY EVER CONDUCTED OPERATIONS ON ICE RUNWAYS? 6) COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS TO ACHIEVE THE AIRLIFT EFFORT? 7) ARE YOU A DOD APPROVED CARRIER? This agency has not made a final decision to procure the stated requirement and this RFI should not be construed as a commitment or authorization to incur costs in anticipation of such procurement. This agency is interested in obtaining responses to this RFI from prospective contractors, but no contractor will be reimbursed for providing this information; therefore the Air Force will accept the requested information in whatever format it is provided. All information received from a contractor will become property of the Air Force and will not be returned.
