Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC), Fort Bragg, North Carolina is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for Third Party Freight Management Services with healthcare logistics freight experience. The third party freight management company would reduce current inbound charges by a minimum of 40%. The third party freight management company would utilize either FEDEX or UPS for shipments, to include overnight, express, 2nd day shipments and those requiring refrigeration, and have freight shipping alternatives for large shipments that FEDEX or UPS cannot handle. The third party freight management company will only give basic shipping information to the source of supply during the ordering process without any additional requirements on WAMC staff and will verify and pay all freight charges during the contract period. The third party freight management company will work as a liaison to resolve lost or damaged shipments and will grant WAMC's supply chain manager access to a website to run reports to monitor progress, as requested. The period of performance will be one year (1 October 2014 - 30 September 2015) with four (12 month) option periods through 10 September 2016. Womack Army Medical Center is seeking capability statements from all interested parties for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition.
