This comprises over 1,600 Government-owned buildings, or approximately 55 percent of GSA's total inventory. The remaining 45 percent is in privately owned leased facilities. All PBS assets are deployed in two fundamental activities. The first activity is space acquisition through new construction or leasing. This is a project management activity that translates customer agency's space needs into discrete requirements, marshals the resources necessary to fulfill the requirements and manages the execution of the project, resulting in the delivery of workspace. The second activity is the life cycle asset management of the acquired space. This includes the physical supervision of the buildings in the portfolio, fulfillment of contractual obligations to our customer agencies, ensuring continuation of operations cycle-asset management of the acquired space, ensuring continuity of operations, determining prudent investment in maintaining a property and ultimately, when and by what means an asset will be disposed of at the end of its useful life. PBS Chief Architect Office has accumulated over 3 Terabytes of images that are stored in many different storage formats and locations. The estimate is that in 5 years that 12 to 15 Terabytes of images will need to be stored. 2.0 Description The objective of this Request for Information (RFI) announcement is to obtain information on capabilities currently available in the marketplace, based on the requirements outlined, from all interested parties. Responses to this RFI will assist the Government in determining acquisition strategies. 2.1 Purpose The General Services Administration (GSA) Public Building Services (PBS) is requesting information on the capability of commercial and other entities to provide a system that will: ? Be able to scale to 15 Terabytes ? Be able to store, retrieve and catalog files of different types including but not limited to: o .jpg, .tiff, .pdf, .wav, .ppt, ? The files must be accessible from many applications ? There will be a security that only people will be able to access the files they are allowed to. ? Able to distinguish between Public and Copywrite material ? ?Lock? Copywrite material so it can be viewed but not downloaded ? Able to convert images into large, medium, small and thumbnail sizes. ? Uses medadata capabilities ? Able to do searches/viewing to include but not limited to: o Simple search o Medadata search(s) o A ?Windows Slide Show? type viewing 3.0 Architectural Descriptions Respondents are requested to provide brief architectural descriptions of the identity credential service they provide, including reliability, availability, and scalability characteristics to meet the functional requirements specified in Section 2. If the vendor provides more than one architectural option, then brief descriptions per architecture may be provided. Descriptions should be no more than five (5) pages per architecture. Respondents are requested to identify and provide information related to the feasibility and design tradeoffs/implications, if any, in order to meet the functional requirements listed in section 2. This information should be no more than two (2) pages per architecture. Respondents are requested to identify and provide information related to implementation schedule considerations for each architecture. This information should be no more than two (2) pages per architecture. 4.0 Cost Information It is particularly important for the government to be able to understand the cost model for an entity to provide identity management services as described in this RFI. Respondents are requested to provide cost estimate information for each architecture described in section 4.0 as follows: Non-recurring costs, such as initial service costs. Annual recurring costs Cost drivers ? specific factors that make up the elements of a decision to either offer a service or deploy it for Respondent?s customer base. Include models and algorithms Cost trade-offs Respondents should also identify any current GSA Schedules or contracts that would be available for the government to use in obtaining services Cost information should be provided in no more than three (3) pages per architecture. 5.0 Organizational Expertise Respondents are requested to provide brief descriptions of the organization?s, products and/or services being provided that specifically relate to this RFI.
