Barber Services

The Bureau of Prisons has a requirement for Barber Services at the Unites States Penitentiary, Atlanta, GA. This sources sought synopsis is for the purpose of conducting market research to determine interest and capability of potential sources for this requirement. Interested respondents will need to pass a NCIC (background check) and must be registered in the System of Award Management (SAM). Any resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price purchase order or credit card. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate a respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Additional information from questions received. USP, Atlanta requires a barber on-site for every other Wednesdays of the month from Feb 2015-30 Sep 2015. Hours from 0800 until completion. Approximately 1-30 haircuts given for each vist. Pricing should be for a firm fixed price for the service and billing should be submitted at the end of the month for services provided for that month and paid by Electronic Fund Transfer. The Barber (only 1 required) will be required to bring their own equipment, that must be in a secure container, to complete male haircuts and must check in at the front desk so items can be inspected before and after services rendered. Background investigation will be required for barber to be able to enter the institution. If a contractor requires more than 1 barber in order to alternate between barbers then a background check will be required for that barber. Escort will be provided by the Special Mental Health Unit. Service Contract Act will apply for this requirement.
