The entire requirement is considered Brand Name equal to ALMACO. We specifically request Almaco's machine as we are part of a cover crop breeding effort in partnership with The Noble Foundation that has already purchased the same drill. This allows us to have identical protocols, remove equipment variations resulting in higher precision and accuracy of the research, and share expensive accessories to future costs. This machine is also 100% standard SAE parts and all parts are accessible by common small business manufacturers as opposed to other companies who use international parts. Although there are other producers of a similar machine, but they do not provide the configurations we require, in the same heavy-duty frame and at a lower price. In addition, future breeding efforts will require equipment modifications; as such we will want to standardize those accessories among the research collaborator sites to be purchased from the same manufacturer, ALMACO. The NAICS Code is 115112 with a size standard of $7.5 million. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. However, all inquiries received within ten (10) calendar days after date of publication of the Limited Sources Justification will be considered by the Government.
