The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Acquisition Management, intends to award a sole source modification on existing contract 1282CS20C0006 to JITA CONTRACTING, INC. to provide aggregate surface on 2.0 miles of the glade road (NFSR 514). Work includes preparing the roadbed by blading and shaping the surface to accommodate a new 16’ surface with a crown of no less than 4% and the placement and compaction of government supplied aggregate consisting of 1”-minus road base material. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) (FAR 6.302-1) Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This determination is based on substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition as the contractor is currently performing on two separate contracts that are in the vicinity and identical in scope to this work which will avoid expense of additional mobilization and administration costs. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotes. This is not a request for competitive proposals. No contract will be awarded based on offers received in response to this notice. No solicitation document exists, and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. However, any firm that believes they have capabilities to provide this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer at [email protected]. All comments received before 4:30 pm MT October 31, 2020 will be considered.
