Y--Pre-Solicitation Site Visit, Iron Mask Abandoned Mine Site located near the town of Townsend, Montana

The Government intends to hold a pre-solicitation (non-mandatory) site visit on October 15, 2015, at 10:00 am MDT in Townsend, Montana. The site visit will be held at the U.S. Forest Service Office in Townsend, Montana, 415 South Front Street. The site visit is to make potential contractors aware of the proposed reclamation at the Iron Mask abandoned mine site on BLM land northwest of Townsend. The meeting will start with a general description of the project, followed by a site tour of the Iron Mask area construction locations, potential staging areas, anticipated haul routes, and repository location. Vehicles with four-wheel drive are recommended for the site tour. The purpose of this meeting is to make contractors aware of an upcoming opportunity for reclamation work and to view the site before there is significant snow cover. The Government expects to issue one contract to complete the following work: 1. Construct a mine waste repository; 2. Generate cover material from the footprint of the repository; 3. Excavate, haul, and place mine waste in the repository; 4. Import topsoil, road mix, and oversized construction materials; 5. Backfill, re-contour, reclaim, and revegetate the excavated mine waste areas; 6. Construct a vegetative cover soil cap over consolidated mine wastes located at the repository; and 7. Perform miscellaneous items such as road improvements, development of a trailhead, and installation of several stream crossings and culverts.
