NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: Section 14 of the Flood Control Act of 1946, Emergency Streambank Protection Program Continuing Authorities Program Projects, South Fork Clear Creek Route FF, Argosy Road, and Stranger Creek, additional surveys and de sign. Authority cited: 10.U.S.C.2304 (1)(a); 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1 FAR 6.302-1). These services are deemed to be available only from the original source for this follow-on contract. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, and would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agencys requirements. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District intends to make a sole source award to HNTB Corpo ration, 715 Kirk Drive, Kansas City, Mo. Description of supplies/services: The objective of this contract is to complete the design work for the South Fork Clear Creek Route FF, Argosy Road, and Stranger Creek. The design work on these projects was unde rway and being completed by HNTB Corporation under contract with the Kansas City District Corps of Engineers. Flooding occurred in May 2007, causing additional erosion, making it necessary to conduct additional survey and revisions to the designs. The cont ractor will resurvey the sites and modify the designs for the three sites as required due to the changed site conditions. The Contracting Officer anticipates the award of a fixed price contract on or about the 15th of September. No solicitation package w ill be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on respo nses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. This notice of intent is not a Reque st for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition. No telephone request will be honored.
