Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, and would result in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agencys requirements. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District intends to make a sole source award to HNTB Corporation, 715 Kirk Drive, Kansas City, Mo. Description of supplies/services: The objective of this contract is to resurvey and additional design of stream bank protection for the Kickapoo Tribe water supply intake on the Delaware River. Previous de sign work was completed by HNTB Corporation in 2001 under contract with the Kansas City District Corps of Engineers. Due to lack of funding, construction did not occur at that time. Subsequent flooding and additional erosion, most recently in May of 2007 has now made construction of the project necessary. The work proposed is a resurvey and modification of the previously completed design. The Contracting Officer anticipates the award of a fixed price contract on or about the 15th of September. No solic itation package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requireme nt based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
