Commodity Requirements Document (CRD) for Sunflower Seed Butter (SSB6)

The US Department of Agriculture is a buyer of domestic origin food commodities for use in various U.S. Government domestic food assistance programs and, from time to time, issues solicitations to purchase a variety of commodities. Specifications for commodity purchases are generally published in Commodity Requirements Documents (CRD) available on the Agricultural Marketing Service's (AMS) website. Each solicitation to purchase for domestic food assistance programs will clearly identify the requirements document applicable in accordance with FAR 11.201(b). A CRD for Sunflower Seed Butter (SSB6) has been published (see document package 1). The effective date for SSB6 is October 3, 2016. The product must be peanut and tree nut free. Interested parties are encouraged to read this new CRD in its entirety in order to understand the commodity requirements for sunflower seed butter sold to USDA for use in these programs.
