The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has a requirement to purchase office carpet for Mobile District Office and intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under GSA contract with Shaw Industries, Inc, 616 E Walnut Ave, Dalton, GA under authority of FAR 6.302. It was determined that maintaining uniformity of the carpet in the Federal building would save money for the many changes and office reconfigurations that are required for the building. It is determined to be in the Governments best interest to buy Reflection IV Shaw carpet squares. The entire building is already floored with the same type carpet. It is anticipated that a Firm-Fixed-Price order against a GSA contract will be awarded. The (NAICS) code is 314110 and the number of employees is 500. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within seven calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
