Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army-Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis wit h Ashland Inc., 50 E. Rivercenter Blvd. Covington, KY 41011-1683. We will be procuring from Ashland, Inc. two 8X8X8 chambers that they will be retrofitting with components that will simulate environments necessary to perform special expirements and te sting. These components will include humidifiers, data loggers, wall to wall air flows system and 3 year parts and labor warranty. This company is the only one qualified to carry out these specialized experiments that will be involving this chamber. Sci Finder software was used to search this research area and provide other laboratories that are doing related research. Ashland, Inc. will be conducting research and testing involving insect infestation using these chambers and therefore have knowledge on t he necessary variables that must be controlled to allow for accurate data. Due to this, no other qualified researchers or laboratories were found. Nothing herein should be misconstrued as a request for proposal. No solicitation document is available.
