Lockport Wire Rope Assemblies for Illinois Waterways Project Office, Peoria, Illinois. The Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to purchase 14 wire rope assemblies on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold and only one source reasonably available. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter into a firm, fixed-price contract with Industrial Wire Rope Supply Company, Inc. Requirement Description The Contractor shall manufacture, prestretch and proof load 14 wire rope assemblies as indicated in these specifications and drawings attached. The wire rope assemblies shall be manufactured in accordance with Fed Spec RR-W-410 (Rev H) Wire Rope and Strand, and the Wire Rope User's Manual Fourth Edition. These wire rope assemblies are used for raising and lowering a vertical lift gate at the Lockport, IL Lock and Dam facility. Each assembly will be 1 1/2" diameter SS304, 6x36 Warrington Seale, Right Lang Lay IWRC wire rope, 61' 10" long after prestretching. Each wire rope assembly will include two installed galvanized open wire rope sockets, one open wire rope socket per end. Each open wire rope socket will come with one pin and one cotter pin. Proper protective coatings and factory lubricants will be applied by supplier/fabricator prior to shipment to protect the wire rope assemblies from corrosion and rust for storage outside for up to 90 calendar days. Provide submittals of Wire Rope and socket Product Data, Work/Fabrication Plans or Schedules, Drawings, Reports/Testing, and Material Certificates are required prior to assembly. Each wire rope will be individually spooled or coiled and bound stacked on pallets and delivered to Peoria, Illinois. The NAICS code for this procurement is 332618 with 500 employee size standard. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement. Supporting evidence in sufficient detail that demonstrates the ability to comply with the requirement listed must be furnished to the point of contact listed below by Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. CT. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, will not reimburse for any costs connected with supplying sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed.
