N00164-20-S-NB44 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT – 7.62X51MM (.308) Caliber Projectiles to be used in all 7.62X51MM Weapon Systems showing improved dispersion and/or excellent terminal effects – FSC – 1305 – NAICS - 332992 Issue Date: 13 March 2020 – Closing Date: 08 April 2020 - 2:00 PM EDT The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane, IN is issuing this RFI/sources sought announcement as part of market research in accordance with FAR 15.201(e.) and FAR 10.001(a)(3)(i) to determine if sources have new projectiles that demonstrate improved dispersion compared to current 7.62x51mm (.308 caliber) projectiles and/or excellent terminal effects. Terms and Definitions: Dispersion: The group size of a specific amount of shots fired at a specified range. Terminal Effects: Incapacitation results and/or armor penetration.
