7310--Notice of Intent to Sole Source: Retherm System - Huntington VA Medical Center

Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 5 (NCO 5) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC utilizing simplified acquisition procedures for a Firm Fixed-Price (FFP) contract. The purpose for this FFP contract is to place an order that will upgrade and install equipment for the Nutrition & Food Service Department retherm systems utilized at the Huntington VA Medical center. The FFP contract will be a base contract. The requirement shall include installation and equipment compatible with Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC manufactured retherm equipment that is currently installed and being utilized at the facility to ensure that food is heated properly to safe temperatures, ensuring the veteran s safety. The NAICS code for this contract action is 333415 - Air-Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment and Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing (SBA Size Standard: 1,250 Employees) The Product Service Code for this action is 7310 - Food Cooking, Baking, and Serving Equipment. The Department of Veterans Affairs believes that Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC is the sole source to fulfill the requirement. It is in the best interest to award to Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC due to cost related to combability with current utilized equipment, as well as warranties, repairs, maintenance, etc. to new and existing equipment. Accordingly, only Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC are capable of providing the supplies and services above without the Veteran s Health Administration experiencing substantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations; Interested parties may express their interest by providing a capabilities statement no later than Monday, September 26, 2022, at 7:00 pm ET. The capabilities statement must provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capability of the party to provide the required equipment. A determination not to compete this proposed contract upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to Announcement 36C24522Q1073 Notice of Intent to Sole Source. If after September 26, 2022, no viable responses have been received in response to this announcement, Dept of VA shall negotiate solely with Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible for award. Interested parties are encouraged to furnish information. All documents submitted will not be returned. The capability documentation should include general information and specific technical background describing in detail the prospective contractor's capabilities and experience that will demonstrate the ability to support these requirements, including proof of training and certification for performing service support for the Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC manufactured equipment, as well as an authorized distributor letter from Aladdin Temp-Rite LLC should be submitted if you are not the manufacturer.
