The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a contract to EC America, Inc., 8444 Westpark Drive, Suite 200, McLean, VA 22102, (Cage Code: 1QTH6) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for the complete rebuild of one (1) Ingersoll-Rand 1500 hp air end compressor (Model # 2CII40M3). Due to proprietary part and performance information, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is the only source capable of providing the required rebuild. The OEM, Ingersoll-Rand, has confirmed that EC America is their only authorized dealer/representative for the geographical area that includes MCAS Cherry Point, NC and that all purchases for the area must be processed through EC America. Therefore, the government intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis from EC America. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
