66--NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT to SensAble Technologies, Inc. for equipment maintenance.

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This will be an acquisition under the authority of the test program for commercial items section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following items: CLIN 0001 1 each #RMFFP-L FreeForm Modeling Plus system Maintenance for one year, including hardware warranty, software updates, & technical support. The intended term for the maintenance is September 25, 2009 September 24, 2010. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to SensAble Technologies, Inc. This firm is the sole developer/manufacturer of the FreeForm Modeling System. This follow-on maintenance is to ensure the optimum operability of the equipment. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334111 and the Business Size Standard is 1000 employees. All responses received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 10:00 AM DST Eastern Time, Monday, August 17, 2009. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
