This notice is being publicized in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring Contracting Officers to disseminate information for proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000. Further in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 it is the intent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to make award to the Saul Mineroff Electronics, Inc. The intended order will provide for a device that incorporates radio frequency filtering to attenuate interference when recording audio from cellular phones. The units also incorporate an electret element which requires phantom power from the recorder thus suppling more gain to the audio input of the recorder. There are no other telephone pick-up devices on the market which can be used in place of this unit. As a result Saul Mineroff Electronics, Inc. is the only responsible source to provide the necessary functionality of the required equipment.
