THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT ONLY AND NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District, intends to specify the sole source system/items cited below to Trautwein Soil Testing Equipment Co. This procurement is for Automated Soil Testing Equipment and software produced by Trautwein for supporting various projects across the Los Angeles District's area of operation. The equipment will be used at the Prado Dam Soils Laboratory in Corona, CA and must be compatible with existing Trautwein equipment and software currently in the laboratory. Hardware components (sensors, sensor brackets, adapters, etc.) must be interchangeable. Software for the requested equipment must be compatible with the existing equipment and vice versa. Control components (Network, ADIO, and Servo modules) must all be switchable. Output data must be in the same format as existing equipment. The DigiShear Automated Direct Simple Shear System and software produced by Trautwin is the only direct simple shear equipment that is compatible with current government systems. TRAUTWEIN AUTOMATED SOIL TESTING EQUIPMENT FOR PRADO DAM LABORATORY - One (1) Automated Direct Simple Shear Testing System. System shall include software, loading device, specimen rings, and sensors for performing automated direct simple shear testing. - Three (3) TruPath Automated Stress Path Systems for Seating, Back Pressure Saturation, Consolidation, and Shear of Triaxial Specimens. Each automated system shall include the TruPath software, (2) flow pumps, and sensors for automated seating, back-pressure saturation, consolidation, and shear of triaxial test specimens. Three (3) complete systems shall be provided. - One (1) Automated 10,000 pound loading system for Constant Rate of Strain (CRS) Testing. System shall include software, (1) load frame, (1) flow pump, and sensors for performing CRS Testing. - One (1) 6-inch triaxial testing cell, two (2) 3-inch triaxial testing cells, three (3) 1.4-inch UU triaxal testing cells, and two (2) 2.5-inch CRS Consolidation cells. Please provide a written statement of compliance and a technical description of your company's product(s) to include descriptive literature and technical specifications necessary to support that compliance. Also include a list of projects in which the proposed manufacturer system/item has met similar integration and compatibility with existing base-wide systems. The list shall include the exact location of project(s) and a point of contact for the base or owners representative contact with phone numbers. This notice of intent shall not be construed as a Request for Quote or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notification or otherwise pay for information requested. Proprietary information is not being solicited, however, if it is submitted it should be appropriately marked. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this surveyor results of information submitted.
