Notice of Intent to Sole Source to Ametek, Inc.

The Department of the Navy, Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) hereby publicizes its intention to solicit, negotiate, and award a Commercial Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with Ametek, Inc. The requirement is for the purchase of the following: ITEM 0001: MMM Blind Mate Connector Part Number: CRA7615-MOD with modified flange Manufacturer: Ametek, Inc. QTY: 3 The above supplies are for the MMM Antenna System to be integrated with the Ubex Antenna System. After market research Ametek, Inc. is the only company that can provide these blind mate connectors to meet all of the Government’s minimum requirements. The Form and Fit of the connector must meet drawing dimensions formatting to existing shipboard interface. The MMM antenna system was designed by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). NUWC is responsible for configuration control of the design. An alternate connector would require certification and approval by NUWC. A determination by the government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the government. However, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
