Missile Defense Agency, Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) Request for Information/Notice of Intent to Sole Source

The MDA Ground Sensors Directorate (MDA/SN) has the mission to develop, test, acquire, deploy, and sustain Ballistic Missile Systems (BMS) Radars and is conducting market research to determine industry interest and capability to meet emerging requirements for Long Range Discrimination Radar (LRDR) in Clear, AK. The potential scope is to adapt the existing LRDR Configuration 1, to be fielded in 2021, with new software enhancements, Increment 6c/7, resulting in fielding of a new deployment in December 2023. The system developer and current prime contractor is Lockheed Martin, Rotary Systems Division, Moorestown, NJ. A complete Technical Data Package and associated software products is scheduled for delivery to the Government in 3QFY21. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to establish a contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, MDA is not seeking proposals nor will it accept proposals. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the respondent’s expense. Participation in future Agency transactions and procurement opportunities is not contingent upon responding to this RFI.
