65--Notice of Intent to Purchase other than full and open competition of pharmaceutical counting devices

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), National Acquisition Center (NAC), intends to procure under other than full and open competition with IMA Nova North America. This proposed award is being conducted under authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for seven (7) Enhanced Kalish EKC/RC Style #3406 cells with removable canisters. The EKC is a pharmaceutical counting device which dispenses oral solid pharmaceuticals. VA has determined that IMA Nova is the only respons8ible source which provides these products as the holder of exclusive rights to sell these Kalish items. No other provider of the products of this nature will satisfy this requirement, as they must be compatible with existing equipment. This will be a firm fixed price award. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
