Description

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. This will be an acquisition under the authority of the test program for commercial items section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996. The US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Contracting Center, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, 4118 Susquehanna Avenue, Aberdeen, MD 21005 has a requirement to procure the following items: CLIN 0001 2 each Part #4362078 7900HT Fast Service Upgrade with Computer This upgrade allows existing 7900HT customers to upgrade their instrument for use with the Fast 98 well block and reduce thermal cycling times. Includes GX 270 CPU, Fast Power Supply, SDS 2.2.1 Software, Installation, Limited 3 month warranty. CLIN 0002 2 each Part #4357808 TF, Fast 7900 Chemical Install Kit CLIN 0003 Estimated Shipping and Handling The intended delivery date for the item(s) is October 1, 2009. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract to Applied Biosystems, the manufacturer /distributor of the product. This requirement is a follow-on to provide the upgrade to existing equipment. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Business Size Standard is 500. All responses received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 3:00 PM Eastern Time, Friday, September 11, 2009. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
