65--Notice of Intent to Sole Source Digital Surgical Biopsy Specimen Imaging System for FHCC

Solicitation VA69D-17-Q-1211 Notice of Intent to Sole Source reference FAR 6.302-1. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center is procuring the following, for the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in North Chicago, Illinois: BRAND NAME OR EQUAL (FAXITRON): Requirements: One (1) FAXITRON BioVision (10 x 15) Digital Surgical Biopsy Specimen Imaging System. One (1) FAXITRON CoreVision (5 x 10) Digital Core Biopsy Radiography System. Specifications: The required equipment shall provide point-of-care specimen testing for breast tissue from a stereotactic needle biopsy procedure. The equipment shall provide immediate verification of excised breast tissue margins. The equipment shall be capable of x-raying the specimen intra-operatively. The equipment shall be compatible with PACS, so the image can be sent to mammography, via PACS, while the specimen is sent directly to pathology. The system size shall not exceed 24 W x 25 D x 70 H. Weight shall not exceed 300 pounds. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to award on a sole source basis, i/a/w: FAR 6.302-1, a purchase order to FAXITRON BIOPTICS, LLC, 3440 E. Britannia Drive, Suite 150, Tucson, AZ 85706, as the only responsible source to provide the above items. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10USC 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. The applicable NAICS Code is 334517 and the size standard is 1,000 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation or a solicitation of offers. However, all quotes received within three days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement upon receipt of response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. There will be no solicitation available.
