Description
The USGS, Pacific Coastal & Marine Science Center has a requirement for Quantity (2) GeoEel A/D module streamers. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 12 and 13.106-1(b)(1) to Geometrics of San Jose, CA. Both streamer sections are part of a specialized cable, called a GeoEel, which is fitted with hydrophones and placed underwater to record seismic signals. The cable array is a series of 25-125m sections that detect analog seismic signals. Each section is connected via A/D modules and repeater modules, which act as strength members and as analog-to-digital converters. The items for procurement will replace and be attached to a GeoEel section currently in use and will allow for an extension of the overall length of the cable array. As these are proprietary, there are no other moduels that can be fit together for this extension. Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these supplies shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contract Specialist no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is NOT an RFQ. This does represent the Government's only written notice of this procurement. All responsible sources may submit a response which, if timely received, must be considered by the agency.
