US Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to issue a sole source firm fixed price order to MTS Systems Corporation, 14000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 to purchase two commercially availabl e MTS Model 329LT 6-DOF Road Simulator units to augment two existing units already owned and used by the government at Aberdeen Test Center. The two additional units must be 100% compatible with the older units to extend the utility of a vehicle durabilit y simulator at Aberdeen Test Center from a single- axle tester to a two-axle tester. The order will include two Model 329LT corners (PN 100-064-778), necessary hydraulic piping, manifolds, and hoses, installation and checkout, and the fabrication of a new inertial mass and environmental enclosure for the equipment. Compatibility with the existing equipment is of paramount importance for control, maintenance, and logistics reasons. This is a sole source procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate only with MTS Systems Corporation under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334519 and the size standard is 500 employees.
