This is a notice of intent to award a sole source under statutory 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Department of Veterans' Affairs, James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital (JAHVH), 13000 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33612 requires equipment and associated services to the study for threats to skin integrity associated with use of patient handling slings in veterans with SCI. This specialized equipment provides precise interface pressure measurements that can aid in the diagnostic utility and prevention of designated disorders including pressure ulcers. JAHVH intends to make an award to the ROHO Group, 100 N. Florida Avenue, Belleville, IL 62221. NAICS 339113 with a size standard of 500 employees. No solicitation document is available. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within ten (10) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The ROHO Inc., a subsidiary of The ROHO Group, Inc. is the exclusive U.S. distributor of Xsensor Pressure Imaging Systems to healthcare institutions that use rehabilitation seat position equipment sole source for US Sales of the Xsensor Pro Platform System. The X3 PRO High Resolution System's (Xsensor product) PX100:100.160/05 and PX100:100.100.05 interface pressure sensor arrays have 16,000 and 10,000 sensing points in 20" x 32" and 20" x 20" areas respectively, providing a spatial resolution of 0.2". This equates to high definition measurement and the ability to measure interface pressures in real time with more clarity and accuracy.
