28 -- PMA Parts and DER Repair Source Approval Process for Development of Alternate Sources

Tinker AFB supports competition through use of Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) parts and Designated Engineering Representative (DER) developed repairs. The new USAF program investigating DER repairs is called Commercial Derivative Repair (CDR). There is an official source approval process in place for evaluating PMA/CDR sources. Suppliers interested in becoming an approved spare or repair source must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package in accordance with the Source Approval Information Booklet (SAIB) available on the small business website; http://wwwext.tinker.af.mil. Costs incurred for the development of SAR packages are not reimbursable expenses by the Government. This notice is for information only and is not soliciting SAR packages for a particular spare or repair process.
