Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source ArcGIS Data Appliance procurement to Environmental Systems Research Institute Inc

Notice of intent to award sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13) and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). This notice is for information only; a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423430, Computer and Computer Peripheral Equipment and Software Merchant Wholesalers with a size standard of 100 employees. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract for (1 ea) ArcGIS Data Appliance Server Bundle with the North America Imagery collection to include installation. The Government believes Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) Inc. is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government is contracting for this software/hardware with installation solution from which ESRI Inc. is the only known source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications above may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or before 5 July 2011. Response to this synopsis is not required.
