65 -- Purchase of Real-Time PCR System With High Level of Thermal Performance, Swappable Blacks, and Compact Design

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Government Scientific Source, Inc., 12351 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191 for a Bio-Rad instrument bundle providing a high level of thermal performance along with swappable blocks and a compact design. The DNA engine cycler can be converted to a DNA engine Opticon 2 system, dedicated to two-color real-time PCR, or it can be used with a swappable Chromo4 four-color real-time PCR detector. The instruments in this package are as follows: DNA Engine chassis with Alpha Engine 48/48 dual and Alpha Engine 96V-well and Dyad chassis with Alpha engine 48/48 dual and Alpha Engine 96V-well. CDC believes that this requirement is met by only one provider. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. Only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. No solicitation is being issued.
